Notes
Mott and the Hoople had reached success in the UK but were falling short on their albums. The band decided that they were going to break up in 1971. Fan of the band, David Bowie persuaded them to stay together and he would offer them a song along with producing their album. The original song Bowie had offered them was “Suffragette City” from his yet-to-be-released Ziggy Stardust album, but they turned it down. 1972, Bowie had come back with “All the Young Dudes” written for them. The song became an instant hit in the UK and US. The lyrics of “All the Young Dudes” may have many different meanings such as youth culture, glam rock, or even a Ziggy Stardust apocalyptic world. However, this song has always left me with a playful sense of the surreal.

BIOGRAPHY

Chelsea Herron was born in a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania, she did not have many children to play with, which helped her discover her passion for the arts. Staying inside most days she created and challenged herself to become a better artist. Frequently hearing the phrase “do what you love”, she decided at a young age that she would someday become a professional artist.

After high school Chelsea continued her education at Luzerne County Community College where she graduated with high honors with a degree in Painting and Illustration. It was there that she discovered her passion of representational painting. Following her studies at the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design she returned home to immerse herself in the Ani Art Academies Waichulis curriculum. Chelsea finds herself inspired everyday by the talent she is surrounded with in the studio and is eager to see where her education will lead her.
